Sophie Elmhirst referred to Michael Morpurgo as “the man with the child in his eyes” after meeting him at the friendly pub, The Duke of York at Iddesleigh.

“Never have a man and a pub been so perfectly aligned”, she said in her New Statesman interview about Spielberg's film ‘War Horse’ shot on Dartmoor.
